Kentucky has never had a female United States Senator. There are more women than men in Kentucky (approximately 7000 more) and it is time to have a woman’s perspective in Congress that represents everyone (the 99%). Far too long, Kentucky’s women have incomes at 82% of male counterparts’ median weekly earnings. 42% of single-parent families with children live below poverty, 16% of the population lives with food insecurity. 26% of Kentucky jobs are low-wage, the minimum wage is an unlivable $7.25/hr and we rank highest in childhood homelessness. Mitch McConnell has been cutting women’s healthcare access for over 3 decades, and it must stop.
